One Day at Poso and Tentena

SEVERAL last year, religion conflict happened at Tentena and Poso, Central Sulawesi. Many people died. Many house district at Tentena and Poso destroyed. Many mosque and church burned. Tentena and Poso people involved in sentiment religion conflict. Tentena and Poso like a hell. The Poso conflict has began in 1998 that spread at five sub-districts in Poso and Morowali districts.

Now, Poso and Tentena have been moving. Poso and Tentena tried moving forward. Tentena and Poso citizen aware if region conflict last year only leaved and made sadnesses. Different communities religion and ideology agreed gotten peace and began to develop Poso and Tentena.

”Poso and Tentena really condusive now. The government region tried to organize economic people,” said Vice Regent of Poso Abdul Muthalib Rimi. No more, he added, religion sentiment. “Conflict just personal type,” Muthalib said.

Region government intermediating and arranged programs and more priority utilised economy people and make income per capita be growth. That place, have many potential resources like agricultural, plantation and fishery. ”But, irrigation infrastructure still damaged, and a lot of ownership garden leaved and long time didn't arranged by owner.”

The Head of Christian Church Sinode at Middle Sulawesi (GKST) Renaldy Damanik said, Poso and Tentena situation more better now. He said, everyone can go to anywhere. After Malino agreement signed, he said, clan conflict has lossed.

Poso and Tentena people didn’t want antagonized mutually fight. It proven when someone efforted last time tried arised communal conflict such as when secretary Church Tentena shoted case. “But, he failed to provocate people

Although situation in Poso Tentena has been more better, but needed approach to anticapate laten conflict. That problem should be stop so can’t be manifest conflict.

Tindjabate said, region government or non government organization program should make social integrity.

According to her, reconciliation Malino that point's entry to solve Poso Tentena conflict. But not only passes by Malino because that approach just movement to elite.

But, Demanik urged, Poso Tentena conflict’s solve mush handle problems victim that need evacuation to better area is most important. It can be ironicly when many victims condition leave in evacuation until now faced problems.

A lot of victims have not house until now. ”It must be priority. What’s mean to build university if riot victim settled. What’s mean to build religious service house, but many people still life in poverty.”

Based GKST'S note, total refugee victim handled good manners not yet until now reaches 700 head family. At evacuation area, they just borrow citizen’s land.

The chairman of Al Khairaat Young (HPA) Ibrahim Ismail said, a lot of refugee are concentrate at same community.

”Our Christian family lives at Poso (Moslem’s basic area) ratty that choosed Tentena until now. They must invited to back Poso again for live together with us. Let’s to build Poso together. We are really openly,” allegedly. Ibrahim said, many places like Gebang Rejo has leave them until now. Refugees weren’t back to old home.

Currently, they didn’t want life on there. They still trauma cause Lombogia image as place of slaughter and dispute community.

According to Ibrahim, social interaction more better now. But, there are also group can't got communication in particular of victims so needed effective psychology approach, therefore can be riot trigger.

So far, said Ibrahim, psychology approach done by government with NGO just situational and didn't extended therefore just eat up budget only. ”Reconciliation just involves figures, while reducing grass root haven't involved.”

Ibrahimi also stresses the importance effort render peace at Poso Tentena used by accentuates society basic requirement.

According to her, besides development pesantren modern at Poso and Tentena's Christian university, government also shall notice pesantren's cabin existence already long time which up to now still gets activity.

When I went to Tentena, I felt like on the hill. Tentena’s locate at North Pamona district at Regency Poso. We must follow trip wends and used pass hills with way internode not very broad. Poso lake very large like sea. Poso Lake is one of larger lake at Indonesia. Lake’s long until 32 kilometer and wide 16 km, depth until 510 meters. Lake's water clearly. I can see little fish swims. We also can look Jesus Christ statue.

To near Jesus Statue, shall pass narrow asphalt road. Its band slightly against because passes hills. Beside that, road available water gap which tremendously deep.

Jesus statue height about 8 meters. Under statue, we read written “Watu Pangaasa Angga Mandate Monument from Dirjen Pariwisata Yoop Ave, Yavet's initiative (Pamona Is Beautiful).
